- Control of steam pressure at the accumulator outlet P2 (in the pipeline going to consumers).
- Control of steam pressure in the pipeline going to consumers Р2, if configuration with a bypass pressure reducing loop PR was selected.
- Control of steam pressure in the pipeline connecting the steam generator and the accumulator P1 (limited steam consumption at the outlet of the boiler during peak demand periods).
- High- and low-level signalling and level control via signalling to the digital output in configurations with a water level gauge LS.
- Indication of the water level in the accumulator and level control via signalling to the digital output when water level gauge with analogue signal LT is selected.
- General alarm (dry contact).
- Digital input for remote on/off switching of the unit.
- On request: digital interface for connection with the top level of the Computerized Process Control System (CPCS) (Profinet, Modbus, Profibus).
A proper steam accumulator design is to be made in accordance with local regulations prior to a steam accumulator installation. All necessary additional pipeline ancillaries, safety and control devices are to be included in order to ensure safe and long-term operation of equipment. |
The higher is the difference between pressure in the boiler P1 and the steam pressure in the line P2 delivering steam to low pressure steam consumers, the smaller will be the size of the accumulator and higher its performance. |
Feedwater supply to the steam accumulator must be provided for priming (deaerator water or condensate can be useful if the accumulator is located outside of the boiler house), as well as steam and condensate mix removal from the fitting pipe overflow (the most optimal is its drainage to the vented condensate collection tank). |
A configuration with a bypass steam pressure reducing loop PR should be considered when there is a need to ensure operation of the steam supply loop even when the accumulator is off. |
A steam accumulator should be installed as close as possible to the peak load consumer and not to the steam generator. |
